The Cabin in Maine is a friendly Hostel providing lodging for those seeking an outdoor experience.
We are set up like any AYH or HI place and open year-round. People come here from all over the world to use The Cabin as their headquarters for outdoor activities.

Accommodations: Guests stay in the lower floor of the three story log home. Guest area has a complete kitchen, full bath room, laundry area, 8-bed bunk room, one private room, all linens and blankets furnished, lender clothes to use when you wash what you have on, and social area which includes DVD, CATV, VCR and DSL available upon request.

Fee: $20.00 per person per day including tax.

Other fees:
When we use our vehicle to transport guests; $1.00 a mile round trip. If we use your car, $10.00 an hour.
Meals by arrangement.
We hold packages for our guests at no charge.

Outdoor activities. Downhill skiing is available nearby at Sunday River, Mt. Abram, Saddleback and Black Mt. Cross-country skiing facilities are also nearby. Snowshoe out the front door. Canoe on nearby rivers, ponds and lakes. Fish for native and stocked trout. Rockhounds take day trips to mines and quarries visit gem and mineral shops and gem museums. Bicyclists enjoy our quiet country roads. The nearby mountains provide opportunities for rock climbers. Backpackers hike into mountain lean-tos. Hikers enjoy nearby trails including the Appalachian Trail.

Location: WE are located ten miles north of US Hwy 2 between Bethel and Rumford in East Andover-Andover, an historic pioneer village in the foothills of Western Maine. The White Mountains are just minutes away, as are the rivers and lakes, The Appalachian Trail, ski slopes, gem shops. maple sugar sites, state designated bicycle route and covered bridges.
